How to Ensure Your Transfer Stays Secure During Pressing

Is your transfer shifting when you press it onto hats, bags, or other accessories?  Here's our quick solution to ensure your transfer stays where you want it every time.

1. Position Your Transfer

Place your transfer on the garment your pressing. We recommend using our DTF Alignment Ruler Set for the perfect placement every time. In this example, we're using a full front design which measures 9 inches in length and 5 inches in width.

2. Secure Your Transfer with Thermal Heat Tape

Ensure you use our Thermal Heat Tape to avoid getting regular tape residue on your garment. Our Thermal Heat Tape is heat resistant so you don't have to worry about it burning or melting, regardless of the pressing temperature.

3. Press

For this example we're pressing on a Next Level 3600 Unisex Cotton T-Shirt. We preheated our heat press to 315 degrees and are pressing for 15 seconds while using our Protective Guard Sheet. Let cool for 15-20 seconds before peeling.

4. Final Press

After the design is transferred onto the garment, with the film peeled off, cover the design with parchment paper or a single layer of t-shirt material and press for ~15 seconds. The second press enhances the value of your product by greatly improving the durability and softness as well as reducing the shine.
