Specialty DTF Film Styles

Glow in the Dark DTF

Make your design truly stand out—even in low-light conditions! We apply a transparent glow-in-the-dark coating that covers your entire design. The magic happens in the lighter areas, which glow more intensely and with a brighter, vivid green, while the darker areas remain subtler in their glow. This effect creates a striking contrast, adding depth and dimension to your artwork or branding, ensuring it captures attention day or night. Perfect for products that need to shine in both daylight and darkness!

Glitter DTF

Add some sparkle and turn heads with your design! Glitter DTF infuses a layer of glitter that enhances your artwork, making it pop with brilliance. The glitter is applied uniformly across the entire design, creating a stunning, high-end effect that instantly captures attention. This premium finish adds an extra layer of shine and sophistication, perfect for giving your creations that special touch and making them truly unforgettable.

Gold & Silver Foil DTF

Transform your designs with the luxurious finish of Gold or Silver Foil DTF Transfers. These transfers deliver a durable, shimmering metallic effect, perfect for single-color designs such as logos, accents, and outlines. Compatible with all fabric types and colors—including cotton, polyester, nylon, and rayon—they provide unmatched versatility. The application process is simple, similar to standard DTF, with no pretreatment or weeding required.

Specialty DTF Art Notes

Setting up artwork for Specialty DTF Transfers is similar to preparing files for standard DTF. The key difference lies in the type of film your design is printed on. The artwork setup process remains the same; however, the final product will feature a unique effect based on the selected film.

To ensure your DTF transfer looks professionally pressed every time, follow these four simple steps.

1 - No Need To Pre-Press or Pre-Iron

Removing moisture and wrinkles from the product is unnecessary with Ninja Peel Transfers. Only do a prepress if you prefer.

Pro Tip: If you’re pressing onto a garment or surface you haven’t worked with before, we recommend doing a small test press first to confirm the settings and ensure the best results.

2 - Position Your Design

Position your transfer in the desired location and make sure it is flat before pressing. You can press across seams, for example on 6-panel hats and side seams of t-shirts. Heat-resistant tape is recommended when pressing on hats or when using a household iron to prevent the transfer from moving. You'll learn when it's needed with experience.

3 - Press & Peel after a few seconds

Press the transfer at 310°F / 155°C with medium to high pressure for ~12 seconds. It is recommended to test one piece first. Use parchment paper or order Ninja’s Silicone Upper Platen Cover (avoids scorching and replaces parchment paper) to protect your garment from touching the iron directly.

Wait a few seconds and peel! If parts of the design are not sticking, lay it back down and press again with added pressure and heat (+15°F). If unsuccessful, increase heat by 15°F increments until it transfers correctly. Remember, the great thing with NinjaTransfers is that repeated pressing won't damage the transfer.

If your settings are scorching the garment, the first step would be to reduce pressure. If that doesn’t work, retain the reduced pressure and reduce the heat by 10-15°F. With a little practice, you’ll find the right settings for each garment and material.

4 - Final Press & Wash Instructions

Important: While the majority of other DTF companies advise you to press it just once, this is improper. After hundreds of wash tests, we have found that a final press is imperative to create a superior product. After the design is transferred onto the garment, with the film peeled off, cover the design with provided parchment paper and press for 15 seconds. Doing so enhances the value of your product by greatly improving the durability and softness as well as reducing the shine.

Art Upload Recommendations

All file types are accepted. Vector files are recommended for the best results, and raster artwork should be at least 300 DPI. For optimal color accuracy and vibrancy, we recommend designing in the Adobe RGB (1998) color profile.

Minimum Size: While DTF handles fine details well, elements smaller than 0.02 inches (0.5mm) may not transfer properly.

Tip: If you're using Canva or Procreate, exporting your document as a PDF is recommended.

Q&A

I uploaded a gang sheet without the checkerboard background in . Once it uploaded the checkerboard background was added. Will that checkerboard image be transferred onto my garments when I press it?: However the design prints, that's how it will press. We don't make any adjustments to gang sheets so the checkerboard would have had to be in your file. Reach out to our service team for some tips to point you in the right direction at service@ninjatransfers.com
I would like to print out my own images, do you offer DTF sheets, in size 8.5 x 11?: Yes we do! It's important to make sure your file is sized at the dimensions that you need them in. Feel free to reach out to our service team if you have any questions service@ninjatransfers.com
I'm used to working with my local screen printer on colors and they've always talked about RGB vs. CMYK. Which is needed / best for the DTF process to insure I get the color I want?: We recommend designing in CMYK since we will print in CMYK - this will best help set expectations for printing results. Hex colors are designed for screens and aren't always fully reproducible through CMYK printing
What’s the cost?: DTF Gang sheet pricing can be found here: https://ninjatransfers.com/products/premium-dtf-gang-sheets?variant=40497587814483
How big of a gang sheet would I need to have 50 of the same print 5 inches wide by 8 inches long?: This would fit onto a 10ft gang sheet with a bit of room to spare. Best way to calculate this is to jump into the gang sheet builder and use the auto-build feature. Upload, set size and quantity, then hit apply. It'll build out your designs onto whatever size and quantity of sheets it fits on. https://ninjatransfers.com/products/build-your-own-gang-sheet
